What’s new at Redeemer?

Updated: May 12, 2023

What a blessing to start our 42nd year at Redeemer Christian High School! We welcomed 48 new students and 25 families to our community. It is great to see our school grow. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive year of learning and serving. As we start this year, there are several new things to share.

Staff

Two staff members have joined our team. Tristan Käärid teaches Art and Special Education and Kim Triemstra joined our office staff as a part-time secretary. We welcome them both and look forward to getting to know them better.

Foyer

In August, the front foyer received a fresh coat of paint and is looking bright and refreshed. We express a big “thank you” to our Grandfriends who generously donated funds for this project. The foyer is now a perfect backdrop to showcase student learning. On the large wall, original student paintings are hung. Also, a large television screen was added to display and celebrate student life and education through photos and videos.

Activities

An integral part of our program includes our staff and students participating in extracurricular activities. This year we have added two more—a Song Writers Club and a Robotics Team. It is important that our students can pursue and explore things they are passionate about.

Theme

Every year, we select a new Bible passage to consider and to unpack for the year. This year, we chose Psalm 139: 23-24: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” As we look ahead, we are anticipating a great year. We are eager to discover the “new” paths the Lord will lead us on.
