Redeemer's caring and qualified staff teach all subjects from a Christian Worldview. They integrate this worldview into their curriculum by focusing on the "great questions" such as "Why is this issue important?" or "What does this mean to us as Christians?" or on "great concepts" such as "How do we balance justice vs. mercy" as it applies to a work of literature? Redeemer teachers aim to engage the hearts and minds of students, to challenge them, and ultimately, to strengthen their faithwalk.
Redeemer Christian High School follows Ontario high school curriculum requirements and is regularly inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Successful students receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Because our curriculum delivers distinctly Christian content, we also offer a Christian High School Diploma to those students who complete extra requirements.
Redeemer, like most schools in Ontario, operates on a semester system: four courses are taken between September and February, and four more are taken between February and June.
We offer a very full and varied course selection, which prepares our graduates for a post-secondary education. For more detailed information on our courses, click here. For details on specific support services available to each of our students, look under our Support Services tab on this web site.
We offer a co-operative education program, as well as English as a Second Language, and Resource help. Correspondence courses are available to students wanting to reach ahead, or supplement their course schedule, or who may need to get a certain credit which cannot otherwise fit in their schedule. Correspondence courses are available through The Avon Maitland Distance Education Centre (AMDEC courses are all on-line, and are free) or The Independent Learning Centre (ILC, which offers traditional correspondence courses completed through the mail; there is an additional cost for these). Our Guidance Counsellor will assist students in registering for either type of correspondence course, will monitor their progress and will assist with arrangements for the final exam.
